Who has been Chelsea's biggest let-down so far?

Chelsea's poor start to the season has been well documented, but which individuals have been particularly disappointing?

Here is a look at three big names who have not been pulling their weight so far for the Blues.

Having claimed the title just a matter of months ago, it's incredible to see the turnaround at Stamford Bridge under the same manager, Jose Mourinho, and more or less the same players.

Having managed just two wins from their opening eight games in the league, Chelsea's fall from grace has been one of the most dramatic in the top flight for several years.

Three men who were key to the Blues' success last term were Cesc Fabregas, Branislav Ivanovic and Eden Hazard.

But who has endured the worst campaign so far out of that talented but out-of-form trio?

The former Barcelona and Arsenal playmaker really hit the ground running last season in terms of both goals and assists.

Having made the move back to the Premier League that previous summer from the Nou Camp, it was like the Spain international had never left England.

Fast forward 12 months, however, and it's a very different man in that blue shirt with 'Fabregas' and No.4 on the back. The goals the midfielder was making at the start of last season was one of the main reason behind Chelsea's bolt out the blocks.

With only one Chelsea player, in the shape of Willian (2), scoring more than a single goal in the league this season, that shows their attacking endeavour has dried up alarmingly.

Fabregas has never been one to shy away from a challenge and the fiery Catalonian knows he and his team-mates are going to have to fight to turn things around.

He told The Sun: "It is a very strange situation for Chelsea to be at the wrong end of the table. And, for most of us at the club, it is the first time we have ever been down there. Now we know how it feels and we all hate it."

Chelsea had only conceded eight goals in their opening eight games in the Premier League last season, with Ivanovic part of a sturdy defence.

The Blues have conceded over double that amount in their first eight games in the present campaign, with 17 opposition efforts whistling into the back of the net.

Not only is Ivanovic producing some uncharacteristic errors at the back, the Serbian is also failing to chip in with the odd assist or goal at the other end; a characteristic that made him one of the top defenders in the Premier League last season.

The star of the show last season was Belgium international Hazard, who picked up all the prizes and accolades for his performances.

However, something is not quite right with the magician, who again has failed to find the back of the net this season, when he had already bagged two at this point last year.

Since September, Hazard has notched four goals for Belgium, which shows he hasn't lost his form entirely, but all is clearly not well with the system at Stamford Bridge.

Having been the real headline act for his assists at the start of last season and the failure to come up with the goods this around, the finger could well be pointed at Fabregas as the biggest let down of the season so far for Chelsea.

By no means, though, is it a clear-cut call as none of the trio have showered themselves in glory this season and a case could be made for either one of the three - so bad has Chelsea's form been so far.
