The best hand there is. The highest straight flush consisting of 10, J, Q, K, A of the same suit.

A straight (five in a row) all of the same suit.

Four cards of the same rank: For example, four Queens.

Two cards of the same rank, with three cards of the same rank: For example, two kings and three aces.

Five cards of the same suit. For example, five Clubs.

Five cards in sequential rank order, in a row. For example: 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. An ace may be used as either a 1 or the highest card as in: A, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace. However, please note that King, Ace, 2, 3, 4 is not a straight.

Also called trips. For example, three sevens.

Two sets of two cards of the same rank. For example, two Queens and two sixes.

Any two cards of the same rank. For example, two Jacks.

In the series of cards from 2 through Ace, the higher the card number, the higher the rank of the card. After 10 come, in order, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace. The Ace is the highest ranked card.

Sometimes two or more people have the same winning hand, for example both have a pair of Kings. When this happens, the best high card held, known as the kicker, determines the winning hand. So, a hand with a pair of Kings and a Queen as the next high card beats a hand with a pair of Kings and Jack.

If two or more players have a straight, the highest card determines the winning hand. For example, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 beats 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.

Where there are two flushes in a hand, the highest different card determines the winner. For example, a flush of K, Q, 10, 4, 3 beats a flush of K, Q, 9, 4, 3

In the event of two or more players having the same strength hand the pot is divided equally among them. For example, if A, A, A, K, K are the board cards and no player is holding an A or K, K as their hole cards.
