Will There Be a Twist in This Week's Horse Racing Betting?

Horse racing betting fans will be hoping that the VC Chase doesn’t succumb to the wretched weather for a second consecutive year this Saturday.

The main event at Ascot this weekend was abandoned last year due to a waterlogged course and whilst the weather forecast in the South East over the next few days is not promising, organisers are hopeful that a full weekend of horse racing betting from Ascot can go ahead.

If the weather is kind, then the VC Chase will take place for the first time as a Grade 1 event after the British Horseracing Board upgraded the event from Grade 2 status last year.

If the race does go ahead, with heavy conditions inevitable, then Twist Magic will line-up as the odds-on favourite against seven rivals and it’s not hard to see why.

Paul Nicholls’ six-year-old has been in fantastic form of late with five victories from the last six finishes and boasts four wins and a second from six career chase events, putting his well ahead of the field for Saturday’s 1:40.

The greatest threat is likely to come from the Arthur Moore trained Mansony, who boasts a strong recent record and could provide the most likely horse racing betting shock in this event.

Punters could well be drawn to the impressive record of the nine-year-old on the race card, which shows three first-placed finished and two seconds whilst the career chase event record of seven wins, two seconds and one third place from fourteen runs doesn’t compare as favourably to Twist Magic, horse racing betting fans could be tempted to back the more experienced runner.

Aside from the leading duo, punters will be looking at significantly longer horse racing betting odds.

Ashley Brook and Schindlers Hunt lead the outsiders and could offer some value whilst the rest of the field is made up by Hoo La Baloo, Tamarinbleu, Pabloe Du Charmil and long-shot Pauntley Gopher.

The main hope first although though, is that the rain holds off. Organisers are expecting to host a full day of racing and here at Blue Square, we’re offering all the latest horse racing betting odds for Saturday’s VC Chase.
