Title Battle for UK Football Betting
The race for the Premiership title will have a major bearing on UK football betting again this weekend, as Manchester United and Chelsea edge closer to the finishing line.
United could be champions by Sunday, if Sir Alex Ferguson’s side can beat local rivals Manchester City and Chelsea fall to defeat at Arsenal.
With a five point advantage at the top of the table and just three games left, punters involved in online soccer betting may be tempted into thinking the Old Trafford outfit have already got the title in the bag.
The leaders have the chance to put the pressure on their rivals, with their game at Eastlands taking place on Saturday, but UK football betting traders beware. City have a good recent home record against their rivals, winning three of the last four home games against United.
Stuart Pearce’s side though have not scored a home goal since New Year’s Day and the visitors are likely to start as strong favourites.
Jose Mourinho and his squad will be praying that City can do Chelsea a favour, before the defending champions make the short trip to Arsenal on Sunday.
After slipping up against Bolton at Stamford Bridge last weekend, Chelsea need to beat the fourth placed Gunners to keep the pressure on United.
Those having a bet on football this weekend will want to note that the Blues have won twice and drawn once at Arsenal in the last three seasons. The two sides drew 1-1 at Stamford Bridge back in December.
Online football betting punters will also be keeping tabs on developments in the Coca-Cola divisions, with the last games in League One and Two taking place on Saturday and the Championship concluding on Sunday.
