West Indies & South Africa Provide Welcome Distraction for Cricket Betting Fans
With the fallout from India’s tour of Australia taking the headlines,
you might have forgotten about the other Test cricket betting on offer at the
moment with the West Indies currently touring South Africa and Bangladesh
touring New Zealand.
The Test series between South Africa is finely balanced, with the South African’s
claiming seven-wicket victory over the tourists on Sunday to cancel out the Boxing
Day Test triumph for the West Indies.
The third and final Test takes place in Durban on Thursday with the South African’s
the clear cricket betting favourites following the convincing nature of their second
Test victory in Cape Town, earned largely through their better use of the ball.
The home side limited the tourists to just 505 runs in their two innings with only
Shivnarine Chanderpaul able to content with the South African attack, most notably
Dale Steyn who took 8-104.
But Chris Gayle’s West Indies side have shown that they certainly have the
ability to upset the cricket betting odds.
Their Boxing Day victory in Port Elizabeth was their first Test victory since 2005
and their first ever on South African soil. In their second innings, the visitors
were reduced to just 175-all out but a determined display with the ball from Fidel
Edwards, who finished on 3-37, was enough to cause a major cricket betting shock
and earn the West Indies a first away Test victory since their win at Edgbaston in
2000.
The same cannot be said of the events in New Zealand, with Bangladesh destined for
a thumping at the hands of Daniel Vettori’s side.
In the preceding one-day series, the Black Caps followed the form-book to record
a 3-0 whitewash against Bangladesh and the chances of a cricket betting upset in
the Test series were even slimmer.
Victory by nine wickets in the first Test in Dunedin has probably set the tone for
the fortunes of the Test minnows in the two-match series.
On Friday, New Zealand will be out to complete the series and get their minds focused
on the much more important challenge of their tour to England in February.
But whilst the action in Wellington might be one to avoid for most cricket betting
punters, the clash in Durban is sure to have plenty of twists and turns with the
series so delicately poised. Blue Square, as always, has all the latest cricket betting
odds so make sure that you place your online
cricket bet before the action starts
on Thursday morning.
