All Golf Betting Eyes on Goosen in Qatar

Retief Goosen will be the focus for golf betting enthusiasts this week as he looks to do something that no player has done before.

The South African defends his Qatar Open championship this weekend looking to become the first player to win the tournament twice but faces some stiff competition if he is to successfully defend his title.

The tournament, held in Doha since 1998, has been good to South African’s since the turn of the Millennium, with Darren Finchardt (2003) and Ernie Els (2005) whilst another African, Tony Johnstone of Zimbabwe, also won the tournament in 2001 – only his sixth European Tour victory.

But gold betting fans will be casting their eyes on the rest of the field and will see that England’s Lee Westwood and Sweden’s Henrik Stenson are the favourites as they take to the 7,110 yard course.

Both Westwood and Stenson top the golf betting market after a strong showing at last week’s Abu Dhabi, with both tying for second-place, four shots behind eventual winner Martin Kaymer.

Luke Donald is another English player who is attracting some interest from golf betting fans after finishing -7 in Abu Dhabi whilst Ian Poulter , another tipped as a potential outsider, finished ship better.

Martin Kaymer is another outside bet to repeat last week’s success but there is also plenty of money for some golf betting punters if Goosen do the unexpected.

On the PGA Tour, the Buick Invitational is no stranger to seeing repeat winners and Tiger Woods heads to California looking for a fourth straight win and sixth overall.

His main challenge will come from Phil Mickelson who has already won the tournament three times but whilst there is a big field to pick from, including Vijay Singh, K.J Choi and Rory Sabbantini, it’s hard to look past Woods and Mickelson.

If you want any more omens before you place your golf bet, only two non-American’s, Gary Player in 1963 and José María Olazábal in 2002 have managed to win the tournament since its inauguration in 1956.

With the starts on show in both Qatar and California, Blue Square is offering all the latest odds so why waste any more time? Place your online golf bet today and get ready for a weekend of exciting action.
