Heineken Cup offers betting opportunities
Leicester Tigers will be gunning for the Treble on Sunday when they meet fellow Premiership heavyweights Wasps in the Heineken Cup at Twickenham in a fixture that is certain to present UK rugby betting fans with plenty of opportunities.
The Tigers added the Guinness Premiership title to last month's EDF Energy Cup triumph by blitzing Gloucester 44-16 at Twickenham – but skipper Martin Corry has insisted he will not rest as trophy-hungry Leicester look to complete an unprecedented Treble.
England’s number eight said: "We've got to make sure there is no complacency. Yes, we will enjoy the victory against Gloucester, but come Monday, it's all about recovery and concentrating on Wasps."
UK rugby betting fans will no doubt take into account that Wasps will be looking to spoil the Tigers’ triple trophy quest, with their captain, Lawrence Dallaglio, determined to take the spoils in what he has billed as a hotly-contested all-English affair.
"It is going to be a worthy final between two teams who have dominated much of the professional era," said Dallaglio.
Online cricket punters look to Lord’s
The focus for UK cricket betting fans this weekend is the first Test between England and West Indies.
England, under the new stewardship of Peter Moores, will be looking to banish the memories of their 5-0 Ashes whitewash over the winter, while UK cricket betting fans will note that West Indies are in transition following the retirement of legendary batsman Brian Lara and resignation of coach Bennett King.
The Windies have slight injury concerns over Runako Morton, Daren Ganga and Chris Gayle but the trio are expected to be fit, while all-rounder Andrew Flintoff has given England cause for concern ahead of the first Test after reporting discomfort in his left ankle.
Lockinge the horse racing betting highlight
Newbury takes centre stage for horse racing betting enthusiasts on Saturday when it stages its feature event of the season, the Group One Lockinge Stakes.
The mile contest confined to four-year-olds and upwards usually attracts the cream of European milers and on Saturday, 2006 winner Peeress is on course to defend her crown.
The Sir Michael Stoute-trained six-year-old has been in good form on the home gallops and will appeal to many in Blue Square’s online horse racing betting on the race especially after the way she beat Majors Cast by a length and three-quarters last year,
In opposition in the horse racing betting could be stablemate Jeremy who won a big race at Sandown last time out along with John Gosden’s Coronation Stakes winner Nannina and Michael Bell’s Red Evie who narrowly beat Peeress at Leopradstown when completing a remarkable seven-timer.
The race headlines a card which is well supported by listed contests and competitive handicaps meaning there is plenty to interest online horse racing betting punters.
