England's Tour of New Zealand Brings Some Great Cricket Betting Action

England’s cricketers have flown out to New Zealand for a tour that is proving to be a tough one to call for cricket betting followers.

Cricket betting fans are struggling to split England and New Zealand for the forthcoming ODI and Test series, with the online cricket betting odds suggesting that this tour could go either way.

England are touring New Zealand on the back of a disappointing Test-series tour of Sri Lanka and Peter Moores, Michael Vaughan and Paul Collingwood all have some work to do to restore some of the pride back into English cricket.

Only the weather restricted Sri Lanka to anything more than a 1-0 series victory in December but it wasn’t all doom and gloom for England on the tour of the sub-continent, as Paul Collingwood’s side grabbed victory in the ODI series.

New Zealand on the other hand, are coming off the back of a rout against Bangladesh but their recent Tests against more credible opposition have been less impressive, losing series’ to both Australia and South Africa in recent months.

An indicator of form could be the Twenty20 appetisers, the first of which gets underway in Auckland on Tuesday morning before the pair meet again, 48-hours later in Christchurch.
The Black Caps will however, be without captain Daniel Vettori through injury and Shane Bond, who is ineligible due to his links with the rebel Indian Cricket League.

Those absentees could well tempt most English cricket betting fans into a patriotic wager and with Alistair Cook passed fit, he will slot into the top of England’s batting order for Tuesday’s opener.

New Zealand though, aren’t to be discounted. The Kiwi’s made it to the semi-finals of the recent World Twenty20 tournament in South Africa and their record in the shortened format is better than England’s with a 42.3% record as opposed to the visitors relatively meagre 27.27%.

The Twenty20 opener is certainly a quick-fire way to announce England’s arrival and with plenty of exciting cricket betting in the offing for UK fans, make sure that you keep up to date with all the action by placing your online cricket bet with Blue Square.
