National Hunt season grabs attention of horse racing betting fans
After the thrills of the flat season, horse racing betting fans turn to the
National Hunt season with the Gold Cup Chase at Cheltenham.
Jamie Spencer and Seb Sanders shared a thrilling Flat season jockey’s championship;
horse racing betting fans will be hoping that the National Hunt season provides just
as much excitement, starting with the main event this Saturday.
£120,000 is up for grabs in Saturday’s feature race and the event is
certainly the main focus for horse racing betting enthusiast this week.
But Saturday’s Gold Cup handicap chase hasn’t exactly got off to the
ideal start, with 4/1 ante-post favourite Don’t Push It dropping out after
trainer Jonjo O’Neil found him “lame” on Thursday morning.
That leaves a competitive field at the top of the horse racing market for the 2:35,
with L’Antartique, Abragante, Granit Jack and Copsale Lad all in with a shout
in the 15-jump chase.
Of that quartet, L’Antartique looks to be in top form after the Ferdy Murphy
trained chaser, who won the Jewson Novices' Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival
in March, won impressively in his last race at Carlisle.
The horse racing betting card shows David Pipe’s Abragante in good form with
two wins in the last two and has a weight advantage over rival runners.
Jockey Mick Fitzgerald is facing a dilemma as whether to ride Copsale Lad or Crozan,
both trained by Nicky Henderson. Fitzgerald, who rode Henderson’s Fondmort
to victory in 2003 rode a double for Henderson at Kempton on Tuesday and admitted
that he faces a “tough decision” over which of the trainer's two entries
to ride on Saturday.
Granit Jack is another fancied bet, with a victory, two seconds and a third-placed
finish in recent outings and in a competitive race such as this, trainers of any
of the market leaders will have their eyes on the main prize.
It’s should all prove to be an exciting weekend of horse racing betting at
Cheltenham with the action starting on Friday with the Royal Bank of Canada Conditional
and ending with Sunday’s Open Bumper so with all that action, log on today
and place your horse racing bet with BlueSQ.
