England Out to Cause Massive Cricket Betting Upset in New Zealand

England continue their aim of causing a major cricket betting upset this week as they look to claim victory in the ODI series with New Zealand.

England, ranked seventh in the world in the 50-over format, are looking to complete a remarkable comeback against the number three ranked Kiwis and claim the ODI series on their latest tour.

Two dismal performances, including a 10-wicket debacle in Hamilton, had England facing a whitewash in the series as cricket betting fans saw the odds on a New Zealand series win slashed.

But England have since got their act together and, faced with the daunting prospect of needing to win the remaining three games to have any chance of victory, claimed a 6-wicket D/L victory in Auckland and could tie the series in Napier on Tuesday.

Dimitri Mascarenhas, a man who was well and truly in the thick of the action in the Twenty20 series, looks likely to retain his place after being recalled for the third ODI, as does Luke Wright, with Graeme Swann and Ravi Bopara likely to miss out once again.

The most pleasing aspect of the Auckland victory last week for cricket betting fans was the apparent return to form of some of England’s key names.

Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood and Ian Bell had all struggled with the bat up in the two prior encounters but pulled their acts together to hit 41, 70 and 73 respectively.

England also seemed to have no problems with the multi-function ‘cricket-and-rugby’ wicket at Eden Park. This experience which should benefit them on no-doubt similar surfaces at McLean Park and Christchurch for Saturday’s decider – both venues which see regular rugby union action.

England still have it all to do, stringing together two more consecutive victories against a side ranked five places above them in the world rankings. But that hasn’t stopped cricket betting fans from lending their support to Collingwood and the boys.

If you want to join them, or if you think that New Zealand can’t possibly lose three on the spin, then make sure that you place your online cricket bet at Blue Square before the late-night action gets underway.
