Glyn Keachie

Induction Date: November 2007

Name: Glyn Keachie

BSQ Name: Keach

Age: 32

Hometown: East Kilbride

Profession: Sales Manager - Bank

Nickname: Meister

Started playing poker: 1 year ago

Significant poker achievements: winning the $45K Jackpot

Favourite starting hand: Mid pocket pairs

Glyn “keach” Keachie was the first Blue Square Poker player to claim one of the fantastic cash prizes in our exclusive Jackpot Sit & Go events. He was battling away at the $20 “Rio” level and managed to hold his nerve and claim 1st position in an amazing six consecutive tournaments! This feat earned him a whopping $45,000 bonus prize back in June 2007 and has yet to be repeated by any Blue Square Player.

A worthy entry to the Hall of Fame I’m sure you will agree. Now we are just waiting for someone to claim the monster “Fort Knox” Jackpot….

Khayam Ezzat

Induction Date: November 2007

Name: Khayam Ezzat

BSQ Name: Belsize007 and now SlyKy

Age: 37

Hometown: London

Profession: IT Consultant

Nickname: Slyky

Started playing poker: 2003

Significant poker achievements: Double qualification for WSOP this year.

Ranked 9th this year on the leaderboard on sharkscope.com across most networks in sit and go tournaments $310 -$1000 entry fee, and highest ranked iPoker player.

5th in 500 euro Pot Limit tournament at WHUP 2005

Favourite starting hand: 56 Diamonds

Soon after launch back in September 2004, Khayam was one of the original draft of players to join Blue Square Poker, and has many highlights on his poker CV to date. He was one of the first ever Blue Square players to win a live tournament satellite when he headed to Barcelona for the World Heads Up Poker Championships in 2005 and followed this up by also qualifying for a special GB v Ireland Charity Heads Up competition in Dublin during 2006.

Trumping this he won not one but TWO $13,000 packages for the 2007 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas where he shared some TV time with former champion Joe Hachem. On top of his satellites successes there have also been numerous final table finishes in big online cash tournaments. I’m sure there will be more to come as well.

George Annan

Name: George Annan

BSQ Name: BIGVRAJI and now SCHOPENHAUER

Age: 50

Hometown: Ealing, West London

Profession: Property Management

Nickname: The Ostrich

Started playing poker: As a small boy aged 7 ..lost 15shillings in old pre decimal cash to a boy of 16 he then(feeling sorry for me) gave me back 7.5 shillings in copper coins……….big mistake!!!

Significant poker achievements: Still to come….. winning big as a Blue Square sponsored player!!!

Favourite starting hand: AA (does anyone seriously prefer an alternative?)

George Annan is comfortably the most successful player to have graced the monthly Blue Square Tournament League and anyone who has taken part will recognise the nickname “BIGVRAJI” from the old software as well as his new moniker of “SCHOPENHAUER”.

During 2006 he went through a spell where he could do no wrong and won back to back league titles, only to get narrowly beaten into 2nd place while shooting for the third in a row. One of these victories was completed with a record points total and winning margin, including no less than 4 outright victories in the qualifying events that month.

On top of these feats he is a consistent performer in Sit & Go tournaments as well as taking his fair share of respectable finishes in various large field network-wide events.
